It’s time to revolutionise the way your data is bought and sold with Killi.
Companies buy and sell your data every day, but you don’t get paid for any of it. Killi changes that for you, and you can start owning your data and earning money through their app. Everything is explained clearly on their website, all you need to do is download their app, and create your personal data profile.
What is this personal data profile going to be used for? It will be the basis for the information that companies will buy from you through Killi. It’s simple: on the app, you fill in the information you would like to share with companies. You can choose when this information is shared, and if you want to take it off Killi, they keep no record of it. Killi is simply there to create a link between companies who want to buy data, to complete their data current data sets for example, and individuals.
Once you’ve filled in the data you wish to share, like your name, phone number, email, gender or location, you can start answering surveys. These surveys are made up of questions such as “When are you planning to buy a new car?” or “How many cups of coffee do you drink a day?”, or even preferences, like “When shopping online, what’s more important: shipping or price?”. For each question you answer, you earn some money. The usual amount is around $0.05. This money adds up in your account, and you can then redeem it for gift cards from Amazon or Paypal.
So what does Killi do exactly? They have contracts with companies looking to buy data, but they don’t keep your data. The contract for your personal data is directly between you and the company buying it. Blockchains are used to secure your data. They take a small transaction fee for the setting up of the contract and the blockchains.
Killi’s vision is for individuals to be able to have more control over their data. It’s a good idea, because at the moment companies buy and sell our data without us even knowing. However, this app will not encourage companies to rely less on people’s data. It is simply tipping the balance a little in your favour, by making you earn a few bucks from the constant sharing of your personal data. Check out their app to see how much you can earn!
